The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the notification for NTA JEE Main January 2026 Session 1 applicants who want admissions in top technical institutions such as NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. The registration process will start from 31 October 2025 and will end on 27 November 2025. The first session of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between 21 January and 30 January 2026 at exam centers. Who Is Eligible for JEE Main 2026?

The eligibility criteria set by NTA for JEE Main 2026 are given below applicants need to meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch or B.Planning:

Educational Requirements

  • For B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1):
    Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • For B.Arch (Paper 2A):
    Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is compulsory.
  • For B.Planning (Paper 2B):
    Mathematics is mandatory at the 10+2 level.

Age Criteria

  • No upper age limit.
    Applicants who have passed Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or are appearing in 2026 can apply.

Nationality

  • Indian citizens, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and international applicants can apply.

Steps to Fill the JEE Main 2026 Online Form

To apply for the JEE Main 2026 students need to follow the given below steps carefully:

Step1: Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Step2: Click on “New Registration” and create your account using your name and active mobile number and email ID.

Step3: Log in and fill the application form with your personal information academic details and paper selection.

Step4: Upload the required documents like your recent passport-size photograph signature and Class 10/12 certificate.

Step5: Pay the applicable fee.

Step6: Submit the form and download the application form.

Marking System

  • Each subject has 20 MCQs + 10 numerical questions, out of which any 5 numerical questions must be answered.
  • +4 marks for every correct response.
